You mention Standard bank, not something simple like MSS clamping? I have found that the standard 1492 is not good enough and sometimes have to go right down to 1300 to make some sites (mostly encrypted sites) working.

We bought a number of Linksys ADSL routers model AG241 and we returned them as
defective (all 6 of them) - you could not access some websites - Standard
Bank was an example and we were unable to explain it. I know of a WiFi ISP in
Eastern Cape who bought 60 of the same model and also returned all of them
for similar reasons.
